Parade Magazine (11/15/09) includes a story Jane and I wrote called “In Search of American Food.” It turned out to be a paean to Roadfood with which I’m sure visitors to this website can relate. It includes seven favorite regional specialties. The Yankee-style hot dog in a split-top bun, as pictured above, is not one of them, but it certainly could be! I was so ecited to read Jane and Michael Stern's "How American Eats" in the Parade this AM. Read the article, enjoyed it and immediated emailed PARADE to let them know how much I appreciated the article and hoped that the Sterns were now going to be a regular part of PARADE.

That's a great idea. I also read the article and thought it was tremendous, even starting out the list of regional specialties by talking about Buffalo sponge candy. I will also send a note to Parade encouraging them to have more articles by the Sterns. By some coincidence, the travel section of today's Buffalo News had a story about making the short trip to Rochester and Nick Tahou's. For one day at least, Roadfood reigned in the news locally (and nationally via Parade magazine).

I called my Parents as as soon as I woke up on Sunday morning to ask them to save Parade for me. My mom told me she had just read your article and was planning on saving it for me already.

I told her that if she liked it she should contact Parade. She said she would absolutely do that!

I enjoyed reading the article in Parade yesterday. I wanted to yell through the magazine to the readers, "There's MORE!"
