Pecans show up in lots of Roadfood favorites, but the two most popular proved to be pie and sweet rolls. In the Roadfood.com poll: Pecans in Roadfood! Whaddya Want?, the sweet roll came out on top. We enjoy walnuts too but we have to admit to a certain nut bias when it comes to walnuts and pecans. Somehow walnuts usually come off as a poor man’s version of pecans, at least in our minds and on our palates. There are few things made with walnuts that cannot be improved by the substitution of pecans. Yes, we know that’s unfair to walnuts, and everything should be appreciated for what it is, not denigrated for what it’s not, but what can we say? By the way, out of the 1,251 votes cast, four people chose the pecan bars. Why so few?
