Halloween Ain’t Thanksgiving

They’re both iconic fall holidays, just a few weeks apart from each other, but where Thanksgiving is the ultimate American food holiday, 61% of Roadfood.com readers, when asked “Do You Eat Anything Special For Halloween?”  said they eat nothing in particular.  15% said they enjoy trick-or-treat candy (would that be the candy they, or their kids, collected, or is it the leftover candy they didn’t give out to trick-or-treaters?).  As a corollary, what’s your strategy for buying candy to hand out?  Some like to get through the day as cheaply as possible.  We always like to buy our favorite mass-market bars (no boutique chocolates, obviously!) and hope for light trick-or-treat traffic.  Our choices?  Butterfinger and Kit-Kat.
