In Michael Stern’s Roadfood.com review of the original La Farine on College Avenue in Oakland, he praises both the sourdough bread and the morning bun (pictured above) as some of California’s finest. There are currently three branches of La Farine: in addition to the original, there’s another in Oakland on Fruitvale, and one in Berkeley on Solano. Comes word that a fourth branch is in the works, to be located at 4094 Piedmont Avenue, also in Oakland. Bread lovers, on to Oakland!
