Slidermania

SL 1

Slidermania has taken hold of America, to the point where you’ll now find restaurants serving crab cake sliders and Kobe beef sliders.  Jane and Michael Stern, being traditionalists, prefer the itty-bitty greasy burger slider that Roadfooders have known and loved for the past century, and they told of four of their favorites on a recent episode of Lynne Rossetto Kasper’s The Splendid Table.  Hear the whole slider story, or the whole Splendid Table episode, online.

See the Roadfood.com reviews of Krazy Jim’s Blimpy Burger in Ann Arbor, MI (Roadfood review), Crabill’s of Urbana, OH (Roadfood review), and Cozy Inn of Salina KS (Roadfood review).  The fourth place discussed on The Splendid Table was Hunter House Hamburgers of Birmingham, MI (not yet reviewed on Roadfood).

Oh, sure. Now everyone will know about Crabill's. And by the way, although by all rights they should be greasy, for some reason they are not.

Don't try to throw everyone off the scent.  It's too late.

Best I've ever had are at White Manna, in Hackensack, NJ.  Yum!

Y'all are lucky! The only sliders I have access to are White Castles in the freezer dept. of my local grocery store and Krystals 120 miles away in Lafayette, LA. (I omit "real" restaurants where they're a novelty item.)

My sister & her family live in Salina. Anytime/everytime we go to visit, we have to stop into the Cozy Inn. Best sliders we have ever had. They have that hometown handmade taste, unlike chains like White Castle. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area. You won't be disappointed.
