Jonathan Byrd Has Passed Away

Jonathan Byrd, who in 1988 founded Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria (Roadfood.com review), said to be the largest cafeteria in the world, in Greenwood, Indiana, passed away yesterday. Besides the cafeteria, Mr. Byrd also owned an Indy 500 car and was a hotel developer. See the story in the Indianapolis Star.

Like the cafeteria he created, Mr. Byrd was bigger-than-life. It's good to see that the next generation is continuing what he started.
