Wiener Whimsy

Sycamore-frankbean

When a newspaper reporter wanted to interview Jane and me about 500 Things to Eat Before It's Too Late at one of “our” places close to home, we went to the Sycamore Drive-In. I had my usual – a Dagwood burger and root beer – but Jane decided to order outside the box and asked for franks ‘n’ beans. Completely different from the hot dogs Sycamore serves in buns, these wacky wieners are cut into piggly little bouquets and fried until crisp-edged. Brilliant!

At first glance, I thought that was beans and bacon.  Which isn't the worst idea in the world!
