Veteran Stern Watchers know that, while their palates are incredibly wide-ranging, there are a few Roadfoods that seem to receive an extra-special dose of love from Jane and Michael. Of those we offered as options, hot dogs were the favorite of the Roadfood.com readers polled recently on the website. Did we miss some? Michael has mentioned a number of times that he is a lover of top-quality, handmade bread. We may be mistaken but we think we recall Jane saying that Pepe’s white clam pizza is her all-time favorite thing to eat (Bruce’s too, by the way). And have you noticed how their pulses seem to quicken when confronted by a menu with a long roster of potato options?
Hmmm… we think maybe a Stern-themed party might be in order: a buffet featuring a selection of hot dogs and toppings, hot lobster rolls (pot of melted butter on the side), and side dishes like broccoli and cheese, squash casserole, and greens with pot likker. Banana pudding and turtle sundaes for dessert. Departing gifts will be bags of Garrett CaramelCrisp and boxes of candy turtles from Bridgewater Chocolate. Who’s coming?
