“World Famous Lions Shrimp Dinners”: that’s the big draw to the 51st annual Ft. Myers Beach Shrimp Festival in Florida this coming weekend (March 14th and 15th).  Lions shrimp is not some variety of shrimp, similar to tiger shrimp, that you’ve never heard of; rather, the festival, and shrimp dinners, are sponsored by the Ft. Myers Lions Club.  There’s also a parade Saturday morning, a crafts expo at the beach, and the crowning of the Festival Queen, also on Saturday.  The shrimp dinners (made with locally-caught specimens) are served both days from 10 am until 5 pm.  See the festival website for more information.
