The 62nd Annual Holtville Carrot Festival commences this Friday, 1/30 with the Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet at 6:30 pm. There’s a golf tournament with lunch on Saturday and a Rotary Barbeque on Sunday, 2/1. Monday through Friday will see a carrot cookery contest, with a big “Dia De La Familia” cookoff on the festival closing day, Sunday 2/8, which will showcase “Our Family’s Traditional Dish.” Saturday the 7th will see an Arts and Crafts Fair with crafts and food booths. We hear there might even be some carrot ice cream available at the festival!
There will also be a midway carnival, mile and 5K races, a parade, a student art show, presentation of parade trophies, an antique car and tractor show, live entertainment and a family talent show.
Holtville is a California desert community of 6,000. For more information about the festival, check the Holtville Chamber of Commerce website.
