Laurel-Diner-plate

Has this ever happened to you?

I visited one of my favorite diners with two goals: 1, to have an excellent breakfast; and 2, to get a good, current picture of the excellent breakfast for my image files. The aroma from the griddle and the hypnotic sight of the short-order chef juggling eight meals all at once put me into a fugue state; and by the time breakfast arrived I had forgotten all about goal #2. I dug in and remembered that I had wanted to take a picture only as used my last piece of buttered toast to mop up the last good splotch of egg yolk on the plate. So, pictured above is the plate that once held a very good meal. Based on the scraps, does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what, exactly, the meal was, and where it was served?

Based on the remnants on the plate, and proximity to home, I'm going to go with eggs, corned beef hash, toast, and hash browns from the Laurel Diner in Southbury.

Amy,

You are correct, I hope this link works. Pictured is a -before- picture. Orem's Diner has a plate that is pretty close too.

Oh, by the way, here is the Orem's Diner plate. Canned hash, if you can't say anything good...

It is my goal in life to keep people either amazed or befuddled. My photo is correct even with the jelly used for the toast.
Since Michael forgot the action shots, here is the one I added for their review. It's one of my best ever photos.

Bingo, Amy! I even had my eggs over easy, as in your picture. The only difference was that my jelly was grape rather than "mixed fruit."

I think this could be the start of a new segment - "Name that empty plate"

Michael,

I went poached, the important thing is the nice runny yolk's addition to the flavor.
As for jelly, I think the choice is based that it is purple flavored and happens to be what the waitress put in the container.
