Deep-fried pickles, boiled peanuts, nut rolls, BBQ, ribs, pork skins, fried green tomatoes, chocolate-dipped bacon, sweet potato fries, hub cap burgers… these are just a few of the scrumptious foods to be served at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock. The fair begins this Friday (10/10/08) and will continue through a week from Sunday (10/19/08).
The concerts here are free with a paid admission to the fair, and feature the likes of Rodney Atkins and Three Dog Night. The big ticket shows at this fair are the PRCA rodeos, the monster trucks, and the demolition derbies (even these are reasonably priced, though). There will be lots of livestock to peruse, flower arranging to admire, and cooking contests take part in, from the pie contest to the chili cook-off.
