The style-and-pop-culture magazine BlackBook picks the top five old-school LA joints (for dining, of course). Topping the list: Hollywood’s Musso & Frank’s (Roadfood.com review; photo above), “where . . . Chandler wrote The Big Sleep.” The next four: Dan Tana’s: “old-timers . . . dine on steak and spaghetti,” Grill on the Alley: “the original, the classic, the always popular,” Polo Lounge: “so classy,” and Pacific Dining Car: “meatloaf has been a house specialty for almost a century.”
