Robert Rector, writing for the Pasadena Star-News, tells of his return to Philippe’s in Los Angeles (Roadfood.com review; photo above) as an adult, to enjoy their famous French dip sandwiches, after a long absence.  His father used to take him there on the way to Dodger games.
