Check out the Lodi News-Sentinel for a fun survey of five old-time area eateries, including The Richmaid in Lodi, opened in 1938, Hollywood Cafe in Lodi (1938), Al’s Place in Locke, opened in 1934 (Roadfood.com review; photo above), Chuck’s Hamburgers in Stockton (1950), and Poor Red’s in El Dorado (1948).  Now there’s a good way for an intrepid Roadfooder to spend a weekend.
