Johnson’s Corner in Loveland, CO (Roadfood.com review) will produce 300,000 cinnamon rolls this year. They are sold in five Western states, and a Las Vegas casino would like to begin selling them. Not bad for what was once a chain of five Colorado gas stations that began in 1952. The Loveland truck stop is the only one of the five still open. They hit paydirt in 1998 when Travel & Leisure magazine, in honor of their cinnamon rolls, named it one of the ten best breakfast spots in the world. That’s right, not the US, but the world (and Johnson’s Corner was the only North American selection!). They are celebrating their 56th anniversary this Wednesday, and you can read the whole story in the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
