R.I.P Bobby Mueller of Louie Mueller Barbecue

It’s saddens me to report that Bobby Mueller, proprietor of Louie Mueller in Taylor, Texas passed away on Saturday morning. According to the Austin American-Statesman web site, his death was unexpected. Third generation Wayne Mueller, son of Bobby, vows to keep the restaurant running and continue the family tradition.

I was shocked to hear of his passing as I had just produced a video podcast about barbecue in Taylor and had spent a morning with him in July as he prepared his food. If you would like to view it, it is here: http://www.vimeo.com/1614136
