This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Grundy County Corn Festival in Morris, IL. There’s plenty of good eating at this festival: the First Presbyterian Church is offering a Chili Supper on Wednesday, the First Midwest Bank Pork Chop and Chicken dinner is on Thursday and Friday, the First United Methodist Church will be featuring a Ham and Bean Dinner Friday evening and Pork Burgers on Sunday, and the Lions Club Chicken Dinner is also on Sunday. There’s a bake sale on Friday, the always-popular Pie Eating Contest takes place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, and vendors will be offering ribs, ribeye sandwiches, brats, tacos, and a lot more.
Other events include a 5K Fun Run, antique farm machinery, water fights, an art & cermaics show, a talent show, a baby show, surrey rides, a carnival, the queen’s coronation, a corn, grain and flower show, a photography show, a crackerbox derby, a huge and very popular parade, a craft show & flea market, lots of live music and dance performances, a farm fair, kids’ entertainment, a hobby and handicrafts exhibit, a kiddie parade, and a log home festival.
