Parades are big at the Jackson County Apple Festival: there’s the Annual School Parade on Wednesday at 1:00 pm, the Opening Parade Wednesday at 7:45 pm, the Pre-School Parade Thursday at 10:00 am, and the Grand Finale Parade Saturday at 7:45 pm, which is said to be the largest lighted parade in Ohio!
Parades not for you? On the subject of apples, they’ll be making apple butter, there’s an apple peeling contest, an “apple pie judging contest” (we assume the contest is between apple pie bakers, not apple pie judges), and sales of apples. Other food events include an ice cream Blizzard eating contest.
There’s lots of live music, rides, a quilt show, something called the “Boyfriend / Girlfriend Game,” the crowning of the queens, a volleyball tournament, a car show, and a lot more.
