Nine hot dogs, 17.8 miles on a bike.  Can you handle it?  That’s the plan for tomorrow’s (9/13/08) Bike the Dog event in Chicago to raise money for the family of Stella Ackerman, a 2 1/2 year old with a rare blood disorder.  There’s no charge to participate in the ride, but there are pledge forms available online so you can be sponsored.  There’s also t-shirts and posters for sale.

The trip begins at The Vienna Beef Factory Store (Roadfood.com review) at 10:00 am.  That will be followed by Hot Doug’s, Susie’s Drive-In, Superdawg (Roadfood.com review), Wolfy’s (Roadfood.com review), Huey’s, Murphy’s, Wieners Circle (Roadfood.com review), and America’s Dog.  You can be a pig and get your exercise in at the same time, and it’s all for a good cause!
