Tomorrow (Sunday, 9/7/08), the Montana Stockgrowers Association is sponsoring their second annual Cattle Crawl.  What is a Cattle Crawl?  It’s a progressive beef dinner, and it will be held in Billings, Montana.  The five courses will be served at Windmill, Bistro Enzo, Rex, and Granary (dessert is served at Windmill, where the dinner starts).  Dinner starts with steak Oscar, followed by beef borscht, a Delmonico steak, petite beef medallions, and finally an apple puff pastry.  Sounds delish!

There will be two dinners, starting at 4 and 5 pm, and tickets are $75/person or $140/couple.  Call 406-442-3420 to join up.  For more info see this article in the Tri-State Livestock News, or this story in the Billings Gazette.

Michael Stern, in his Roadfood.com review of Rex, says: “Beef is king here, and the prime rib we had was one of the best around.”  Pictured below is a sirloin steak at the Granary, which Michael Stern, in his Roadfood.com review, pronounced “the best we had in Billings … a city with a lot of very good steaks.”
