One of the oldest and largest state fairs in America kicks off this Wednesday as the 155th Ohio State Fair returns to Columbus for a 12-day run. There will be fair competitions and exhibits galore, from the Ohio State Fair Horse Show and the Ohio Auctioneers 40th Annual Bid Call Competition, to the SPAM competition and the Spelling Bee. The cow butter sculpture, a fair tradition for over 100 years, will of course be a highlight for many fairgoers. Many people look forward to Schmidt’s giant cream puffs, and the ice cream served in the Dairy Products Building. Locally grown foods are available at the Ohio Food Pavilion. And there’s sure to be plenty of foods on sticks!
See the state fair website for the complete schedule and program.
