Although the town of Gales Ferry is only a few short miles from the development of the Connecticut shoreline, this pastoral setting may fool you into thinking that you are on the backroads of rural Vermont. Most folks likely come for a scoop of their homemade ice cream; however, a trip to Cows and Cones can be much more. While the kids check out the petting zoo and take a hayride around the premises, parents may have more interest in exploring the long rows of greenhouses filled to the brim with plants and blooming flowers.

Overall Experience
Early Summer Peach Ice Cream - Although the name was quite promising, this ice cream was too cold, the peaches were too big to reasonably bite, and the ice cream was fairly tasteless in the absence of fresh fruit chunks. Maybe Late Summer Peach would be worth the wait.
S’Mores Ice Cream - The mini marshmallows brought variety to the texture, but the graham and chocolate flavors fell somewhat flat.
Vanilla Ice Cream - With the consistency and taste of ice milk, your hot fudge may be better served on another flavor.
Hot Fudge Sauce - Darker and more bitter than others, giving it a homemade taste.
