Here’s a minor league baseball promotion that certainly qualifies as “unique.”  The Pensacola Pelicans, a team in the independent American Association, are offering brides-to-be a chance to win a rehearsal dinner at Skopelos on the Bay.  What will they have to do?  Contestants will attend the June 21 game and compete in a series of on-field contests between innings, including a dizzy dress race and chipping a golf ball into a garter.  The winners of these events will compete in the grand finale: a search through the mud to find buried treasure.  Find the most treasure and you’ve won yourself the rehearsal dinner!  For more info, check out this article in the Pensacola News Journal, this article on Oursportscentral.com, or see the Pensacola Pelicans website.
