The June issue of New Hampshire Magazine has a story called The Real New England 120 Not-To-Miss Experiences.  They've collected 20 experiences from the editors of regional magazines in each of the six New England states.  There are some wonderful ideas on these lists, most of which have nothing to do with food.  But there are some food experiences among the 120, and many of them are Roadfood favorites, including:

Noah's in Stonington, CT

Louis Lunch in New Haven, CT

Ted's in Meriden, CT (the photo at the top of this post shows the unique burger-steaming process)

Abbott's Lobster-in-the-Rough in Noank, CT

Lenny & Joe's in both Westbrook and Madison, CT

Pepe's, Sally's, and The Spot in New Haven, CT

Red's Eats in Wiscasset, ME

Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury Center, VT

So... Massachusetts gets dissed in the food stakes, eh?! Oh well, more for us to eat & shorter lines, I 'spose! :o)

Just had my first lobster roll of the season yesterday afternoon at Red's Eats, and it was like heaven. I chatted with a couple who'd flown a small plane up from NYC just for lunch! How about that?

No New York System or coffee milk mentioned?
Have these people been to RI.?

Well, it's possible that the editors of the Rhode Island magazine didn't mention anything food related. Same with Massachusetts.
