On Day 3 it was back to the Bay State to explore stores in Boston and beyond. We also made room for one more (Ben) to help both judge and consume the massive amounts of ice cream before us. It turned out to be a particularly beneficial day to have an extra mouth on hand, as we quickly learned that Massachusetts is a state that spits in the face of portion control. Perhaps the most extreme example of this size inflation was at Kimball Farms, where the smallest scoop came in a pint-sized cup! Boston also certainly wins the prize for most unusual ice cream flavors, including Root Beer (Herrell's), Black Pepper Bourbon (Toscanini's), and Thai Basil (Christina's)!
