Roadfood favorite and Santa Maria steak specialist The Hitching Post is featured in this week's Roadside Attractions series in The Lompoc Record.  Says Sally Cappon: "A restaurant flier advertises 'the world's best barbecue.' No argument here."

We'll add that if you've never had the opportunity to sample Santa Maria barbecue, you're really missing out on a unique Roadfood classic.  It's not barbecue as most of us think of it; it's actually beefsteak cooked over burning wood, with a traditional set of accompaniments that usually include salsa, pinquito beans, toasted French bread, and salad.  Add a bottle of inexpensive local pinot noir and you've got yourself a memorable Roadfood feast!
