Our eagerness to begin the ice cream eating bonanza brought on an ambitious order at our first stop.   As we dipped into a massive banana boat topped with hot fudge, marshmallow, strawberry sauce, and butterscotch, we quickly discovered the problem with such an approach—it was difficult to taste any of the individual components of this concoction.  The vanilla and chocolate ice creams did not stand up as distinct in the mix, but the toppings were good.  The individual cup of house specialty Moose Tracks (vanilla with fudge and peanut butter cups) proved to be a better flavor alternative.

Our recommendation is to visit Bubbling Brook if you happen to be traveling through the town

I grew up going to this place and now I live in NJ. I miss all of the great ice cream shops in MA! Bubbling Brook was all about the soft serve back in the '70s when you could actually get different flavors like coffee and pistachio. As kids we loved it, and so did Grandpa!

Well this place was a complete disapointment. From the rude owner to the obnoxious waitstaff. We were a group of 7 people which only 3 were eating dinner and the rest of us wanted icecream, which we would have spent at least 40 dollars in ice cream sales... NOTE: this was our childhood icecream store and four of us hadnt been there since we were kids.WE drove a solid hour to get there. We were greeted with the rude chef/owner/staff saying there was only 10 minutes before they were to close. They would not allow us to sit together in the dining area, which was empty ( and it was raining outside). They wouldnt sure us icecream inside and told us we had to eat and order it outside, in the rain and thunder. WE WERE ALL MORTIFIED At the treatment that we recieved and the POOR quality of food that was served. AGAIN. WE WERE ALL SHOCKED AT THE TREATMENT AND LACK OF HOSPITALITY THAT WE RECIEVED. THe party members that ate recieved their food...wilted cucumbers.. soggy frys ... hockey puck burger....soupy chicken salad.... WE paid the tab... and went to FRIENDLIES and had a wonderful icecream experience... with warm welcoming attentive staff...

WATCH OUT FOR THE OWNER.... HE THINKS THAT STACKING 10 CHAIRS INFRONT OF THE EMERGENCY DOOR IS LESS OF AN OBSTRUCTION THAN A FAMILY RECREATING A CHILDHOOD MEMORY TO SIT TOGETHER..

THERE ARE TOO MANY PLACES TO ENJOY A SUMMER TIME TREAT TO EVER RETURN.. THEY LOST US ALL AS CUSTOMERS.. AND THE HUNDREDS MORE THAT THIS WILL REACH HOPEFULLY..

SAFE YOUR MONEY AND FAMILY EXPERIENCES FOR ESTABLISHMENTS THAT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER... THIS IS NOT ONE

Interesting experience, to say the least. It's hard to gauge the timing for happier and more friendlier staff. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the affects of serving more 100's of people in one night. Not to ever imply that Jennifer's experience is acceptable. Quite the contrary. Difficult to calculate the economic impact of a dissatisfied customer.

I have had mixed experiences there myself but all in all, they've been just fine.

The reason I go is quite simple...the ice cream is some of the best, not to mention the wipped cream...out of this world.

My advice to you Jennifer, would be to look beyond the bad (and unacceptable) experience you had there the other night, and instead look to enjoy past memories of when you were there as a young lady; the friends, the fun, the excitment, and all the fixings. Good memories are a gift that no one can ever take away.

Cheers,
AB
