Glass dishes, metal spoons, and free ice water in real glasses may not matter much to some, but after eating ice cream all day out of disposable bowls with sometimes serrated plastic spoons, Lizzy's was a very welcomed stop. A more refined ice cream shop of yore, this Waltham institution produces blue-ribbon ice cream in all the usual flavors, including a few surprises, like Cantaloupe or Charles River Crunch. Lizzy's also boasts a take-out shop in Harvard Square.

Our recommendation - We would travel across several towns to experience Lizzy's Ice Cream.
| Trip Report Card |
| Overall Experience | |
| |
| Mocha Lace Ice Cream - A flavorful coffee base with small bits of chocolate lace candy (chocolate-covered caramelized sugar). | |
| Butter Crunch Ice Cream - Sweet cream ice cream with toffee bits. The ice cream was reminiscent of iced milk and the toffee bits were sadly scarce. | |
| Vanilla Ice Cream - All of the perfect elements (texture, consistency), but a quiet vanilla flavor. The perfect base for a favorite topping. | |
| Hot Fudge Sauce - Started off overly sweet, but finished off with a bitter taste with hints of coffee. | |
