J.P. stands for Jamaica Plain, where the first J.P. Licks shop opened back in 1981. Since that time, the store has expanded to include 7 Boston locations, all of which serve up the same high-quality, homemade ice cream and hot fudge. If you're not in the mood for a heavy dose of cream and sugar (either in your ice cream or house-roasted coffee), J.P. Licks also offers a line of both hard and soft frozen yogurts.

Our recommendation - We would travel across state lines to experience J.P. Licks Ice Cream.
| Trip Report Card |
| Overall Experience | |
| |
| Mint Chip Ice Cream - Just the right amount of mint and very creamy consistency. | |
| Banana Oreo Ice Cream - Very fresh taste with lots and lots of cookies. | |
| Black Raspberry Ice Cream - Gooey viscosity, but a little too artificially flavored. | |
| Vanilla Ice Cream - Creamy, smooth texture. | |
| Hot Fudge Sauce - Thick and rich, this fudge was more like a ganache than a sauce. | |
