Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House, a long-time Roadfood favorite and the last of the great old Miami Beach Jewish delis, closed last week. Time and demographics march on. Rascal House's closure has hit quite a few people hard. Just as the death of a rock star or movie great leaves people mourning for the end of an era as much as the end of a life, so does the passing of Wolfie Cohen's remind people of a time in Miami Beach that ended long ago. Doesn't matter that it may have been decades since they've actually sat down at a Rascal House table with a steamy pastrami sandwich with a schmear of brown mustard and a bowl of sour pickles; Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House will still be missed.
